I thought there would be more guns and gold sneakers.
In many ways, the early morning scene outside yesterday’s Trump rally in Savannah served pretty much what I’d expected: A sea of MAGA hats, cammo cargo shorts, old ladies bedecked in red and blue sequins sitting on their walkers.
Since the incidents with the ear and the golf course, AR-15s appear to have fallen out of favor as a preferred accessory for these events, and no one in the line snaking down Liberty Street appeared to have shelled out $400 for a pair of tacky kicks.
Still, the fashion did not disappoint: Many sported “I’m Voting for the Felon” t-shirts bought from a carnival of vendors around Orleans Square, and there was at least one creepy Trump Elvis.
