I’m so glad you wrote about Clinton’s performance. That was a magical evening and grateful I could be there. It was a moving gathering. And that home and oasis right in the city!
Glorious! I wish I could stroll through there. It reminds me of your grandparents fruit-tree-filled yard where they picked breakfast for years from five mango trees (Haydens were my fav, but the turpentine was the most prolific), bananas, oranges, pink grapefruits, guavas and okra, which I couldn't abide (slimy mini-Coke bottles). It's a delight to pick and eat what you've tended with love.
I have heard about the Paw-paw patch but have not experienced it yet. I look forward to visiting one day. Thank you so much for including the song. I have very early memories of being with other little kids and singing that song while bending over and picking up imaginary paw-paws and putting them in our pockets. I sing every time I hear the word Paw-paw!
Well, this is timely! I just purchased five Pawpaw starts and heeled them in for the winter. This spring I will plant them inside my garden along the fence and hopefully they will take root and grow.
