Thank you for your fabulous writing and for reminding us of the good, bad and ugly of Savannah every week. You always seem to bring it around and end on a note that makes me smile. Happy New Year to you & yours!
Thanks for making 2024 a bit more cheerful! You have a big job ahead of you with 2025… many of us will need a great cheer leader… may we all be blessed with peace and kindness! Happy Holidays to you and yours!
Finally subscribing for the whole story revealed a glimmer of joy I didn’t know I needed this year. Each story is a real treat, and may you have something that lightens your heart each week like your stories do for me.
Thomas Wolfe said that we can't go home again and perhaps he was right. But this particular column has brought a number of bittersweet memories. I owned 407 and 409 E. Jones Street back in the early 1990's, lived in Ardsley Park just down from that fabulous oak tree and walked my dogs there for several years, and of course was a member of the tribe and ate latkes until they squirted out of my ears (applesauce AND sour cream, please. More is, um, MORE!!!!) Wish you and yours a Happy Hanukkah and New Year. Festivus for the rest of us!!!!
Jessica, only you could take a reader on the rollercoaster of a journey from a night out --and quite a night at that, to mourn the loss of a live oak tree. If this is your last post for 2024, and I am okay with accelerating to the end of a really crappy year, I will just have to bug you for your insight and humor.
